When students come into first year, their reading and numerical abilities are assessed and those students in need of learning support are identified.
All students study a set of core subjects that include the following:
- Irish
- English
- Maths
- Science
- French or German
- Civic Social and Political Education (CSPE)
- Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE)
- Physical Education (PE)
- ICT
- Wellbeing (Career Guidance, Homework Matters, Study Skills, Friends for Life)
- History (from Sept 2020)
Students choose additional subjects from the following:
- Metalwork
- Woodwork
- Business Studies
- Home Economics
- Music
- Art
- History
- Technical Graphics
- Geography (from Sept 2020)
- Junior Certificate Short Courses: PE & Philosophy, Agricultural Sustainability & Digital Media.
